HUGE THANKS to everyone who showed up for us at the September West Sac City Council meeting! 🙌 Your support means the world and reminds us what this community can do when we show up together.
But our work isn’t done yet; progress at the City has been slow, and we urgently need your help to keep the momentum going. When food stamps were recently cut, even though they were later reversed, we saw real panic. Families flooded us with calls for help, and we stepped up to make sure no one went hungry. If this happened once, it could happen again. That’s why we need urban farms to keep our communities strong, fed, and self-reliant no matter what comes our way.
Three Sisters Gardens (TSG) has donated 30,000+ pounds of organic vegetables just last year alone to food-insecure families in our neighborhood. This year, we have already surpassed that!
Along with that, the farm has been a space for many educational workshops, youth internships, health & wellness events, school field trips, and more! Because we are on a month to month lease, the land is not guaranteed. Our team and volunteers have put so much love, sweat, and tears into these fields, and would hate to see it taken from us at any given moment. Our goal is to secure a long-term lease from the City of West Sac for 5th & C Farm.
Obtaining a long-term lease or ownership of the land at 5th & C is a critical step toward bringing our vision to life—a permanent, multi-use workspace that will serve as a hub for year-round education and engagement. With a dedicated, weather-resilient facility, we can significantly expand our impact, offering a more consistent and accessible learning environment for youth and the broader community. See plans below.
PLEASE CALL and/or EMAIL your City Council members and urge them to put Three Sisters Gardens (TSG) on the December 3rd meeting agenda so we can finally secure a long-term lease for our 5th & C Farm and keep this space thriving for everyone.
