Come back to your breath. - a Plant Magic Workshop with Magpie Alchemy

In these current times, staying connected to our own body can feel difficult. Come join Jamie Pesquiza from Magpie Alchemy and learn how to make your own herbal inhaler. Inspired by the aromatherapy and herbal remedies of South East Asia, Jamie believes that the magic of plants can help guide our hearts and bodies through stress and trauma. Aromatherapy can be such an effective way to return back to your self, regulate your nervous system and directly affect the emotional regulation centers of the brain. In collaboration with Three Sisters Gardens, we will have a hands on learning experience on how to formulate your own herbal inhaler blend using some of the plant medicines grown at the farm.

Please note: We will be working directly with essential oils, dried plant medicines and plant extracts. Please share if you have any allergies.

Jamie Pesquiza Cardenas is a Filipinix Ilokana multidisciplinary artist, cultural worker, Medicine Maker and Weaver of Inabel. She is the heart and hands behind Magpie Alchemy and passion project, The Ayat Project. Daughter of Jaime Galinato Cardenas and Angelita Pesquiza Cardenas - She comes from a line of stewards of the land, of healers, weavers and storytellers. She shares her gift of plant medicine from her Grandmother's ancestral knowledge and prayers of supporting their community with healing, and celebrating their skin, and helping them stay in touch with their body and senses with the magic of plants. In an effort to excavate their cultural identity, she discovered their middle name translates to Research and Last Name translates to Blue. Jamie sees their connection to plants as a bridge to their ancestors.
